The surroundings of Sarzana – the Lunigiana region and the Magra Valley – offer stunning sceneries, beautiful beaches and peaks, fascinating archeological sites, tens of medieval burgs and castles.
The enchantment of the Gulf of Poets is still very much alive today and it is possible to experience it riding an e-bike or a vespa along the coast and up on the hills throughout some enchanting burgs and lovely fishermen’s village.
The Alpi Apuane are another not to be missed destination if you are around: also known as Marble Alps, they house the famous white marble – the same used by Romans, Michelangelo, Canova: we invite to dive into this incredible and dramatic landscape and hike with us towards the slopes of Mount Sagro, where the view finally opens onto the spectacular, majestic sight of the marble quarries.
In less than 15 minutes by car we can reach together the spectacular Fosdinovo Castle and have the privilege of learning how to cook delicious original Lunigiana recipes, experiencing the true Italian art of living – as local do – together with a chef in the kitchen of the Castle.
We also invite you to live Lunigiana at the pace of a horse ride, along the ancient route of the Via Francigena, to discover the wonder of Luni, the Stele Menihr and the many authentic villages in the inlands: Pontremoli, Filetto, Fivizzano, Bagnone…
